The Breda Modello M-37 Machine Gun, was used by the Italian Royal Army from 1937 until 1943. The Breda was used in the defense of Italy as well as overseas in Africa by Italian forces. The Breda uses 20-round feed clips that have be oiled prior to use. This was troublesome in the desert environments as it attracted sand and dust into the action. Production of the Breda M-37 ended in 1943 with the negotiated surrender of Italy to Gen. Eisenhower.
